The fresh raspberries have completed their summer season, along with all the hybrid brambleberries and various Ribes. Now our sales are of the frozen variety, from earlier harvests.
The blueberries were good, but with so few plants and so many enthusiastic visitors, it was no contest that they would hang around long!
Good news is that the blackberries are doing much to fill the gap in our berry range for U-pick, with the variety Loch Ness being keenly picked. Once the other varieties also get going, there will be plentiful supplies to keep up with visitor numbers, through to Easter when apples and chestnuts will be on,.
