Sunny Creek Organic jams and preserves are made the old fashioned way with fruit and sugar and without additional preservatives, setting agents, artificial colours or flavours. (Fruit contains natural pectin which helps the jam set and is the reason that some flavours are more soft-set than others.) 

It is important to note that our onsite commercial kitchen does however process some nuts and that some of our products also contain spices. This means that all our jams and preserves may contain traces of nuts.

We take great pride in our fresh produce at Sunny Creek, and over the last 35 years we have built a reputation for providing premium quality first grade produce, that is sold into a wide range of fresh food stores, organic grocers and supermarkets through out Melbourne and Gippsland. 

Over the years Sunny Creek Organic Berries have also made their way to many more exotic destinations; 5 star resorts in far north Queensland, Australian embassies and international hotels throughout South East Asia and even into the kitchen of the Royal Thai Palace.

Sunny Creek Organic Berry Farm has a holistic environmental philosophy that aims to minimise wastage throughout the berry harvest. This means that berries that are too ripe to go in punnets to be sold in retail outlets are instead quickly frozen to capture their flavour and freshness. 

Having a store of frozen berries is great, but shipping logistics limit us to local and direct supply only. If you are far away from us or our couple of Melbourne metro farmers markets then we may be unable to help you.

Unfortunately we don’t have a Melbourne delivery capability, but pick-ups can be arranged by rendezvous at either of the two suburban Farmers Markets we attend – Kingston on the 1st Saturday, and Bentleigh East on the 4th Saturday of every month.

We sell best quality certified organic rasps and other berries in 500g packs, and good quality 2nd-grade –great for smoothies, blending with yoghurt/cereal, cooking etc – in kilogram packs (free flow). The latter are more ripe with consequently minor faults that would affect shelf life if sold fresh.

Kilos of seconds red raspberries, purple raspberries and early varieties of blackberries (eg Ranui, Marion, Waldo) and brambles (boysens, youngs) are popular for smoothies and freshly thawed eating, while late blackberries –the thornless types-  are best suited to preserves. Cocktail mixes are only available in 1st grade 500g packs. Some berry types are only frozen in very limited quantities or grades, depending on seasonal circumstances, and even red raspberries are often sold out before the new season’s production enables replenishment of our stocks.

Many years ago, we were sitting around the kitchen table, discussing ways to sell some of the more obscure varieties of berries we grow - like yellow raspberries, and some bright soul said 'I know, lets mix them all together...and make a berry cocktail!'

And so the infamous Sunny Creek Organic Cocktail Berries were born. Many have come and gone in their attempts to duplicate them, but at the end of the day no one else is crazy enough or grows enough varieties to take on our cocktail berries. 

Each cocktail berry punnet is individually hand mixed in the punnet to create a balanced combination of up to 10 varieties of organic berries; red, golden and black raspberries, marion and waldo blackberries, boysen berries, youngberries, blueberries and red and white currants. Just like a summer fruit salad, they are the perfect way to try a variety of berries that you may not have tasted or even heard of before.

Sunny Creek cocktail berry punnets can be purchased from leading organic and gourmet food stores and independent supermarkets in Melbourne and Gippsland over the Christmas - New Year period. Each punnet is mixed by hand and contains a variety of the following berries.

Fresh cocktail berries
Over December and January, Sunny Creek Organic cocktail berries can either purchased from the farm shop or if you are feeling more energetic, you can pick-your-own cocktail mix out in the berry patch.

Frozen cocktail berries
Frozen cocktail berries can be purchased from the farm shop in either 500g ($18) or 1kg ($33) lots. 

Cocktail berry jam
Each batch of cocktail berry jam is lovingly handmade from a combination of fruit and berries including; red and purple raspberries, blackberries, strawberries and apricot and no two jars ever taste exactly the same. Our Sunny Creek Organic cocktail berry jam can be purchased from the farm gate or from a range of retail outlets.

We sell frozen cocktail berries and cocktail jam direct from the farm gate all year round, however outside of December to March it is advisable to call first to ensure that there is someone at home when you plan to visit.
